DESCRIPTION:
Thank you for viewing my 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T with the big 440 cubic inch powerplant mated to a smooth automatic transmission. It is a beautiful, largely original, nicely documented example of one of the great, asphalt-thirsty, throaty beasts of the muscle car era. This car is everything you would want and expect in a double-caffeinated dose of American iron built on a philosophy of style and speed and raw power. It is a numbers matching, predominantly original example of a Coronet R/T that is ready to get into and enjoy. It will definitely get your blood pumping and will make pedestrians stop and take notice. And it is factory A/C equipped. I have owned and collected classic cars for the last 26 years, beginning with the 1969 Dodge Charger I bought when I was sixteen, and which I still own today. I still own my 2nd car as well, a 1983 Pontiac Trans Am, which I drove from my senior year in high school through to my second year of graduate school in the department of English at the University of Central Florida in Winter Park, FL. So my passion for classic cars -- and especially Mopars -- has been a lifelong pursuit and is about the most fun I can imagine having. I am an Oxford-educated motorhead thats been car crazy since bell bottoms were in style the first time around. And because I love to find, own, drive and collect all kinds of classic cars, there comes a point when I have to sell a few of them to keep my collection manageable, or else they all dont get exercised like they should. This is one of those times. My collection has expanded to about two dozen cars, when really, if I am totally honest with myself, I should get it down to about twelve so that I have the time to drive and enjoy them all. I am a firm believer that cars should and need to be driven. And when I cant drive them all enough, I go through the painful process of letting a few of them go on to new owners that will hopefully get out there and drive them more than I have time to. As you can see, I have other cars listed for sale; and before its all said and done, there will be about ten up and available. The R/T is up for sale simply because it is extremely similar to my 69 Charger that planted the classic car seed 26 years ago, and therefore doesnt get the seat time that it deserves. I was told by the previous owner that it is numbers matching and largely original. It has been repainted in the original factory medium green metallic, which is relatively rare and really striking. And it is in spectacular condition. I have included scanned images of the fender tag decoding in my flickr set of photos, so please have a look at them to get a better idea of the Mopar machine you are looking at. The A/C is all there, but to my knowledge isnt working. A/C isnt a big deal in the northeast, so I never looked into it, but if youd like it fixed before taking delivery, I could certainly take care of it. As Ive said, Im a car nut, so interesting trades are always an option; an even swap or cash + car in either direction, depending on all the elements in the equation. Based on what I said earlier about the reason for my collection reduction, I would probably be looking for something I could turn around and sell, but if it helps us make a deal, that is whats important. So have a look at everything and check the book value on the 69 Coronet R/T with the 440 magnum and A/C and get in touch with me. Lets see if we can make something happen.
